The Bristol Palin DWTS introduction wasn’t bad

Every season has its perks, but this is shaping up to be the Palin “Dancing with the Stars” year. Bristol herself hasn’t done really much to speak of, but her mother Sarah Palin certainly commands enough attention these days. That said, she it was not as if she performed like a token addition. She really was not that bad. There is star power all around for the fall season of the show. The show seems to be adding fewer people that act or play sports, and appears to be loading up on stooges from reality TV. Nevertheless, it should be a good season. The cast is quite awesome anyway.

Not the strongest start

Though anything Palin gets attention seemingly regardless of merit at times, the very first Bristol Palin “Dancing with the Stars” routine was really not too bad. Florence Henderson and Bristol Palin tied, according to CNN, with each scoring an 18 of 30. The worst dancers on the very first episode all scored a 15, and they were Margaret Cho, Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino, and David Hasselhoff. Michael Bolton should figure out how he is designed to stay on the show if he scores a 16 again. Kurt Warner got a 19, and so did Audrina Partridge from “The Hills”. Former LA Laker Rick Fox fared the best of the athletes. He scored a 22. Kyle Massey, a teen actor from Disney Channel shows, scored a 23, as did performer Brandy, in a sort-of reunion with David Hasselhoff, after their tenures on “America’s Got Talent” Those are all well and good. The winner, though, seemed to be blatantly obvious before the show began.

Nobody puts Baby in a corner

Never mind any famous offspring; Jennifer Grey is on the show and that means that “Dirty Dancing” is going to get brought up. The film launched the careers of Grey and Patrick Swayze. Her character was unimaginatively named Baby, but that is where the famous line “no one puts Baby in a corner” comes from The large draw for enthusiasts is to view if she still has her dancing shoes. That kind of makes the Jennifer Grey “Dancing with the Stars” appearance that much more special. The result was the top score of 24 out of 30 for Grey and Derek Hough, her dance partner for the night.

This season ought to be great

This, along with each and every other season, should be incredibly buzzworthy and for good reason. There is potential for some real fireworks. That said, it is a celebrity-reality show. A big part of it is parading individuals around, like show dogs, the public has become interested in for some reason.
